WHAT DOES YOUR POSITION ENTAIL?
As President I am responsible for organizing events with our partners. I generally supervise or volunteer at our events and help our lab manager prepare. I lead the general and officer meetings.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN INVOLVED WITH LEAD?
I got involved at the end of my first year when I was elected as treasurer. After serving as treasurer for a year, I was elected as president last spring.
WHY DID YOU GET INVOLVED?
I have a lot of respect for LEAD, I think that a lot of chemists can remember the first time we realized that science was a field we wanted to go into. To have a chance to give that realization to some kid is really cool.
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVORITE EVENT?
BLAST camp by far. The murder mystery we set up was so fun and I think the kids enjoyed trying to guess who did it.
WHAT EVENTS ARE YOU LOOKING FOWARD TO?
I am very excited about boo bash, getting to do our demos and activities in costume is always fun.
